Back by popular demand, this year’s Senior Songwriting Camp will be an incredible opportunity for participants ages 13+ to immerse themselves in the songwriting process.
Participants should have some music background (piano lessons, guitar or ukulele lessons, choir or voice lessons etc…) prior to participating, but advanced skills (such as reading notation) are not a prerequisite to thoroughly take advantage of the songwriting process.
Part of the camp will be to learn about the construction of songs, and the pairing of chords to create the tension and release points that make a song popular. Participants will also be guided through lyric writing using different poetic tips and tricks through the use of simile, metaphor, rhyming schemes and rhythm. Genres include: Pop, Indie, Country, Folk, Pop-Rock, Singer-Songwriter, and Pop-Rap
